ABOUT THE ESTEEM WOMEN'S ORGANIZATION
How it Started
In 2012, Esteem Founder, Nyesha Thompson, originally birthed the idea of Esteem as a women’s clothing line in efforts to help women boost their self-esteem due to the notion that “if you look good, you feel good about yourself”. It was her personal struggle and frustration at an early age with low self-esteem that would compel her to help other women overcome their struggle as well. During her healing journey throughout adulthood, she began to realize that low self-esteem had been an inhibitor. It created feelings of doubt, fear and unbelief and kept her from “becoming” the woman she was created by God to be. As a result, she decided to pursue the idea of empowering others, as it would ultimately serve as a source of personal healing and empowerment for her.
Unfortunately, the clothing line did not happen. However, God would not allow the dream he had given her to fall to the ground. So, he expanded her vision. She then recreated it and named it the Esteem Women’s Organization. Thus, her mission began.
What is the Esteem Women's Organization?
Officially launched in 2016, the Esteem Women’s Organization has been instrumental in helping women to rediscover their identity in Christ, the essence of who they are as women and their life’s purpose in the earth using tools such as ministry, education and resources that focus on the “whole woman”. Since then, the annual Esteem conference has served as a safe place for women to heal from feelings of defeat and the brokenness of their past.
The Esteem Women’s Organization strives to help women transform their way of thinking about themselves, if it is in fact, less than how God sees them. The goal is for this organization to contribute to women becoming all that they were created to be and that they walk away transformed in ways that are insurmountable so that they may positively affect change in the lives of others, creating a ripple effect.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower women with hope and a sense of self-worth in Christ as guided by the power of the Holy Spirit and the word of God while demonstrating the love of Christ. We aim to fulfill this mission by providing ongoing ministry efforts, educational tools regarding a variety of topics, and resources for women in need.
Our Vision
We seek to bring awareness to the issue of low self-esteem and to eradicate its effect on the lives of women of every color, culture, creed and socioeconomic status.
What We Believe
We are a Christian organization founded upon biblical principles. According to Ephesians 4:5-6, we believe there is One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father and his shed blood on Calvary’s cross was for the propitiation of our sins. Therefore, all are welcome into the arms of Jesus, for by his blood, He has the power to transform all!
